- 1.Choose your tool. For quick results in 5 minutes - Google NotebookLM (completely free, two AI narrators talk like a podcast). If you need one voice of your choice - ElevenLabs (10 minutes of audio per month free).
NotebookLM requires only a Google account and text upload. ElevenLabs needs registration, but voices sound more realistic.
Google NotebookLM ↗ - 2.Option A (Google NotebookLM): go to notebooklm.google.com, click 「Create notebook」, upload your story text (copy-paste in the field or upload PDF/Google Doc), then click 「Studio」 → 「Audio Overview」.
Text uploads as a 'source'. You can paste your draft directly into the notebook creation window.

Deep Dive sounds more natural because it's a dialogue, not a monologue. Brief works if you need short voiceover.

- 4.Wait for generation. When audio is ready, click Play to listen. If you want to change something in the text - edit the source document in your notebook and regenerate Audio Overview.

ElevenLabs voices sound more realistic than many competitors, but NotebookLM is faster and completely free without monetization limits.
