  3. 3.In Cline settings: click the gear icon (settings) in the bottom right of the Cline window. In the «API Provider» field, select «OpenRouter». In the «API Key» field, paste your copied key. In the «Model» field, enter: qwen/qwen3-coder. Click «Done».

    Make sure the model is exactly qwen/qwen3-coder - it's free in preview.

  4. 4.Open your project folder in VS Code (File -> Open Folder). Press Ctrl+Shift+P (or Cmd+Shift+P on Mac), type «Cline: Open in New Tab» and select it. In the window that appears, enter your task.

    Cline will start reading files and suggesting changes. You can approve each change. Important: your project code is sent to OpenRouter servers and the selected model - do not open work or personal projects with secrets, keys, or third-party data this way; use a learning or public repo for testing.
