Complete your first task in Claude: from account to verified result in 10 minutes
Registration, a structured prompt, and correct interaction with the model - on the free plan
- 1.Open claude.ai and sign up. To create an account, you must be over 18, physically located in one of the supported countries, and have a real mobile number from that country for SMS verification.
If the service is unavailable in your region, you will need a stable connection through one supported country - do not switch between locations, as this may lead to account suspension.
Claude ↗About this tool - 2.Open a new chat. On the free plan, Sonnet and Haiku models are available - Sonnet is suitable for more complex tasks. Click the + button to attach a file with context if the task requires it.
Don't set up memory, Skills, and external integrations right away. Pick one real task you can verify yourself: a client email, contract review, or meeting agenda.
Claude ↗About this tool - 3.Paste the prompt template into the chat, replace the text in square brackets with your data, and send it. A structured prompt with context, constraints, and format - is the foundation of effective work and the best protection against inaccurate answers.
Don't write «do not hallucinate» - it doesn't work. Instead, explicitly ask to separate facts from assumptions and flag anything that couldn't be verified.
Claude ↗About this toolPromptI need your help with [TASK: e.g., draft a follow-up email to a client]. Here's the context: [CONTEXT: e.g., we had a product demo yesterday, client asked about pricing]. Requirements: [REQUIREMENTS: e.g., up to 150 words, professional but warm tone, include a clear next step]. Please provide the result in [FORMAT: e.g., plain text ready to paste]. Separate facts from assumptions and flag anything you couldn't verify. If any part of my request is unclear, ask me before answering.
What this prompt doesThe English template gives Claude the task, context, requirements, and output format. Replace the text in [square brackets] with your data. The phrase about separating facts and assumptions reduces the risk of fabricated information. The last phrase asks the model to clarify ambiguities - this avoids the need to abruptly correct the answer. - 4.Check the result. If you need to correct it - send a clarification calmly and specifically. Normal objections and adjustments do not violate the rules, but as of November 12, 2026, Anthropic prohibits systematically and unnecessarily behaving cruelly towards the model.
As of August 2025, Claude may end a chat if the user behaves abusively after repeated attempts to redirect the conversation. A new chat can be started immediately - blocking a conversation does not affect other chats.
Claude ↗About this toolPromptThanks. Please revise this: [SPECIFIC CHANGE: e.g., make the opening less formal, keep the rest as is].
What this prompt doesTemplate for a polite edit: thank, specify the exact change, ask to keep the rest. Replace the text in [square brackets]. - 5.Check the privacy settings: open Settings → Privacy. If you don't want your chats to be used for model training, turn off Model Improvement. Do not enter personal or sensitive data until you check this section.
Setting names may change as the interface updates - look for the Privacy and Memory sections.
Claude ↗About this tool - 6.Create a Project for a recurring task: click Projects → New project. In project instructions, write the goal, rules, and work format. Add one or two current documents to knowledge. This will preserve context between sessions.
Up to 5 projects are available on the free plan. Don't add dozens of documents or connect external services without a specific need - start with the minimum.
