Pick Your AI in 15 Minutes - Test ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini on One Task
Compare three popular AI tools on a real example and find which one works best for you
- 1.Open three services in separate browser tabs: ChatGPT (chat.openai.com), Claude (claude.ai), and Google Gemini (gemini.google.com). Register separately on each service or log into an existing account - each AI has its own registration.
ChatGPT requires email or login via Google/Microsoft. Claude asks for email or Google login. Gemini uses your Google account. All registrations are free on basic plans.
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini ↗ - 2.Prepare a test task that does NOT contain confidential information: trade secrets, passwords, real client names, or data you cannot share. Use a fictional example or a task from a course.
Important: on free plans, all three services may use your data to improve their models. Never paste real work tasks, client emails with issues, code errors with private details, or other sensitive information.
- 3.Copy the same prompt into all three services one by one. Use the ready-made formula below, replacing [TASK] with your example:ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini ↗Prompt
Help me solve this task: [TASK] Answer briefly but completely. Explain the solution logic step by step.
What this prompt doesThis prompt asks the AI to help with a task and explain the solution step by step. Replace [TASK] with your task, for example: 「How do I write an email to a client if their order is delayed?」 or 「Explain how recursion works in Python」. - 4.Run the prompt in ChatGPT and wait for the full response. Copy the result into a document (Google Docs, Notepad, or Word) and note: response speed, clarity of explanation, usefulness of answer (rate 1-5).
On ChatGPT's free plan, there's a limit: roughly 10 messages every 5 hours. If you hit the limit, the AI will ask you to wait.
ChatGPT ↗ - 5.Paste the same task into Claude and run the prompt. Record the result next to ChatGPT's answer in the same document. Compare: answer format, detail level, readability.
Claude is known for long, structured answers with code examples. The free plan has fewer message restrictions than ChatGPT.
Claude ↗ - 6.Paste the task into Gemini and run the prompt. Add the answer as a third column in your document. Compare the style: Gemini often gives more compact answers with links to sources.
Gemini is free and available to everyone with a Google account. Free plan limits are not strict for regular use.
Google Gemini ↗ - 7.Compare all three answers by these criteria: accuracy, completeness, speed, interface convenience, communication style. Choose the AI that worked best for your task. Use this service as your main tool for a week.
No AI is perfect for every task. ChatGPT is better for coding and logic. Claude is better for long texts and analysis. Gemini is better for quick search and general questions. Try different services for different tasks.
