Set Up Shared Memory for ChatGPT and Claude via Mem0

- 1.Sign up on the Mem0 platform (free plan). Click Sign Up in the top right corner and create an account using your email.
If the service is unavailable in your region, use a VPN to access the registration site.
Mem0 Platform ↗ - 2.In the left menu, open the Dashboard section. Click the Add Memory button. Add key facts about yourself, your project, and your communication rules one at a time - each fact as a separate entry.
Do not enter passwords, card numbers, or other sensitive data - this is a third-party service.

The free Mem0 plan lets you add up to 1000 memory entries - enough for most tasks.
Mem0 Platform ↗ - 4.Install the Memory Layer for ChatGPT & Claude extension by Mem0 in the Chrome browser. Open the extension page in the Chrome Web Store and click Install.
The extension works in Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave). There is no official extension for Firefox.
Memory Layer for ChatGPT & Claude (Chrome Extension) ↗ - 5.After installation, click the extension icon in the browser toolbar. Paste the Mem0 API key you copied in step 3 and click Save. Enable the toggles for ChatGPT and Claude.
The API key is stored locally in your browser and is only sent to Mem0 servers during memory requests.
Memory Layer for ChatGPT & Claude ↗ - 6.Open ChatGPT or Claude in your browser and start a new chat. The extension will automatically load your context from Mem0 - you no longer need to repeat your background info. Ask a question that requires knowledge of your project.
If the memory did not load, check that the API key is saved and the toggle for the desired model is enabled in the extension settings.
